Guided Walk: 22nd August 2024 – Fovant Badges

Start Location:  This walk starts from the front of Broad Chalke village hall (SP5 5DN). There is parking within the village, please park considerately.

Start Time: Walk completed.

Walk description:

On this 12 mile circular walk we will have fine views of the Fovant Badges and pass the Commonwealth War Cemetery at Compton Chamberlayne. The route follows tracks and droves through this attractive area of Cranborne Chase.

During the walk we will talk about local historical points of interest and share knowledge of the flora and fauna. There are far reaching views on this walk.

How much will it cost?

£10.00 paid in advance or cash on the day.

Walk Level: 

This is a moderate walk with some ascents and descents. 

How long will it take?

This walk will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. During the walk we will stop for a picnic lunch (not provided).

Equipment

You will need suitable footwear and outdoor clothing (not denim jeans) and waterproofs.

You should also bring drinking water and lunch / snacks.

Toilets

There are no public toilets on this walk.

Refreshments

You will need to bring you own food and drink.  There is a village shop in Broadchalke and in Fovant (you should check opening hours)

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not allowed on this walk.

How do I join the walk? – Walk Completed

You must be over 18 years old.

You will be required to complete a health declaration form and provide emergency contact details prior to the walk.

If you have not booked a place on this walk, completed the appropriate forms or arrive without suitable clothing/equipment you will not be able to join the walk.
