This walk starts from West Street Long Stay Car Park in Bridport (DT6 3TP) (Grid Ref: SY462928). Parking charges apply.

Walk Route:
From the car park head east for a few metres to join Tannery Road, turn left and walk to the junction of West Street.  Turn left and soon cross the road  just before the White Lion pub and join the pavement on the opposite side, continue a short distance to reach a mini roundabout. Turn right and follow the pavement besides the B3162, Dottery Road, for 900 metres to reach the point where the pavement ends outside the last house leaving the town.  Turn right and follow the lane for 80 metres to reach a footpath on the left (Grid Ref: SY461938).

Follow this path as it heads north steadily heading uphill on the route of the Hardy Way.  At a fork in the path (Grid Ref: SY463944) keep right and continue on the Hardy Way to reach Middle Pymore Farm.  At a junction of paths besides farm buildings (Grid Ref: SY463948) turn left.  In 100 metres at a crossing of paths turn right and follow the path besides a field to reach Pymore Lane (Grid Ref: SY 462950).

Turn left and follow the lane for 700 metres to reach a crossroads with the B3162.  Cross with care and join the lane opposite sign posted to Broadoak.  Follow this narrow country lane for 1.3km to reach Atrim Lane on the left (Grid Ref: SY445957).  Now follow Atrim Lane for 600 metres, the lane ends near a farm. Take a footpath on the left and then almost immediately take another footpath heading south across fields towards Ebb Plantation.  Follow the path through the trees to reach a junction with the Monarch’s Way (Grid Ref: SY443946) turn right.

After 300 metres on the Monarch’s Way the path reaches Broadoak Road, turn left and follow this quiet country lane towards Symondsbury.  As the road enters the village there is an interesting old sheep dip on the left.  Continue through the village to pass the church and then turn left and pass the Ilchester Arms.

The route now continues on this road for 600 metres and then sweeps to the left where a pavement starts.  After 175 metres the road joins the B3262, stay on the pavement for 1.5km to reach the mini-roundabout opposite the White Lion in Bridport.  From here retrace your route back to the car park.
